He made his debut at Auteuil in May 2020, winning a 2m 2f 4year old hurdle by 2 ½ l from Gold Allen. Moved to Willie Mullins he reappeared at Gowran Park in November, finishing 2nd in a 2m novice hurdle, beaten 1/2l by Sea Ducor (received 7lb), then in December at Limerick in a 2m grade 2 hurdle, was pulled up. In February 2021 at Leopardstown in a 2m grade 1 novice hurdle he went off at 100/1 and was 6th beaten 9 ¼ l by Appreciate It (gave 1 lb), then in March at Cheltenham won the 2m 4f Conditional jockey’s handicap hurdle by 2 ¼ l from Langer Dan (received 7lb).
He followed up at Punchestown in April, winning a 3m grade 1 novice hurdle by 12 l from Gentlemansgame, them reappeared in December at Leopardstown, winning a 2m 5f novice chase by 22l from Ain’t That A shame. In February 2022 he won a 2m 5f grade 1 novice chase at Leoparstown by 9l from Master McShee, then in March at Cheltenham, in the 2m 4f grade 1 Turners Novice Chase , fell when 12 l clear at the last. He finished the season at Fairyhouse in April, taking a 2m 4f grade novice chase by 18l from Master McShee.
Reappearing at Punchestown in December he won the 2m 4f grade 1 John Durkan memorial chase by 13l from Fakir D’Oudairies, then in February this year won the 3m grade 1 Irish Gold Cup by 6l from Stattler at Leopardstown. He then came to Cheltenham in March and won the 3m 2f grade 1 Gold Cup, beating Bravemansgame 7l, and finished the season with 2nd at Punchestown in the 3m grade 1 Gold Cup, beaten 2 ¾ l by Fast or Slow.
He reappeared at Punchestown in November in 2m 4f grade 1 John Durkan Chase, finishing 3rd, beaten 1 ¼ l by Fast Or Slow, then in December a Leopardstown won the 3m grade 1 Savills Chase by 23 l from Gerri Colombe. In February he won the 3m grade 1 Irish Gold Cup at Leopardstown by 4 ½ l from Fast or Slow, then in March at Cheltenham won the 3m 2f grade Gold Cup by 3 ½ l from Gerri Colombe, and finished the season with 2nd at Punchestown in the 3m 1f grade 1 Gold Cup beaten 1 ¼ l by Fast Or Slow.
It is hard to win 2 Chelenham Gold Cup’s. A hat trick is very rare and whilst he will have strong opposition again, you wouldn’t discount him doing it
