both ends of the table with Saturdays results at the appropriately named
Champions Day at Ascot .
Starting with Olympic Glory ( Cliff,
Martin, Steve, Peej, Tony), who went
to post in the 1 m group 1 , Queen Elizabeth 11 stakes, Held up towards rear, headway and switched left over 2f out, squeezed
through to chase leaders 2f out, led over 1f out, stayed on strongly to draw
clear inside final furlong, driven out, winning by 3 ¼ l, he gets 56.2 points.
In the 1m 2f group 1 Champion
Stakes Farhh ( Martin),
and Cirrus Des Aigles ( Bob,
Cliff, Cod), went to post.
Farhh, Took keen hold tracking leader, led over 1f out, soon ridden, strongly
pressed final inside furlong, stayed on gamely, winning by a neck. He gets 108.8 points.
Cirrus Des
Aigles, Held up in 6th, headway to 3rd going well when pressed for room briefly 2f out, chased winner approaching final
furlong, stayed on inside final furlong pressed winner to the line, always just
held , 2nd beaten a neck, he
gets 12 points.
