French Investec Derby hope Ocovango enjoyed a nice breeze at Epsom as part of the yearly 'Breakfast With The Stars' morning at the Surrey circuit. The Andre Fabre-trained inmate engaged in some pleasing work over the Derby trip and drew readily clear of his lead horse.Fabre said: "They went quite quietly, the idea was to just show him the bend and the downhill trip. It was not a serious workout but he was moving well and it was useful.

Telescope has a sore left shin and "won't be running" in the Investec Derby at Epsom on June 1, said trainer Sir Michael Stoute.

Royal Ascot's Prince of Wales's Stakes may come just too soon for Cirrus Des Aigles, according to his trainer Corine Barande-Barbe. Barande-Barbe has not given up all hope of a return to Berkshire just yet for the 16-times winner, who missed the Hong Kong Cup in December with an injury.

Telescope is on course to take part in a racecourse gallop next week in a last-ditch bid to enable him to make the Investec Derby field.

Sir Michael Stoute's colt was denied a run in the Dante Stakes at York this week after grazing on his legs became infected.
The only chance Telescope has of lining up in the Derby on June 1 is if he recovers in time to have a gallop next week
"I spoke to Sir Michael yesterday and it was good news, and I spoke to him this morning and that news continues to be really good," Harry Herbert, racing manager for the owners, Highclere Thoroughbred Racing, told the Punter

Mince has two possible options to get back on the winning trail before she heads to Royal Ascot.

"Mince got tired at York yesterday and perhaps raced too freely in front into a head wind, I am sure she will be better suited when the ground is riding faster," "She was over her racing weight and the race will bring her on in leaps and bounds. The only two options for her to run again before Royal Ascot, both over five furlongs.
"The Temple Stakes at Haydock on May 25 or the Prix du Gros-Chene at Chantilly on June 2, a race Avonbridge won.

Flat Profile - Tickled Pink

Tickled Pink  4 Y GR F  Invincible Spirit – Cassandra Go (Neil)
An Improving filly who has won 2 of her 5 starts, but has never been worse than 2nd. She made her debut at Leicester in June finishing 2nd , beaten 1 ¼ l over 6f by Russeliana in a fillies maiden, and was again 2nd in a similar event at Newbury in July when 1 ¼ l behind Lady Gorgeous. Not seen again till May last season, she was again 2nd in a 6f maiden at Leicester , beaten 3 /4 l behind Ladyship, and finally got off the mark at Yarmouth in another 6f maiden beating Palmette ¾ l , and again was not seen again last season. She has already won this year, taking the group 3 Abernant stakes at Newmarket by 2l from Jimmy Styles. Held in high regard at Warren place, she could prove high class in the sprint division.
Trainer Sir H. Cecil

Flat Profile - Theodore Gericault

Theodore Gericault, 3 y b g Sir Percy – Tableau Vivant (Cod)
Cod’s policy of picking horses with links to his boys names has proved fruitful in the past, and this is another interesting pick. He made his debut at Newmarket last July, finishing 4th, beaten 3l behind the useful the Gold Cheongsham. Not seen again due to sore shins, he was gelded in the winter, but made a winning reappearance on 3rd April over 7f at Lingfield, beating Arctic Admiral a neck. He should provide some fun and win more races. He followed up a couple of days ago at Pontefract winning a 1m 2f handicap by 2 ½ l and looks highly progressive
Trainer Sir M Stoute.

Flat Profile - Solar Deity

Solar Deity 4 y bc Exceed and Excel – Dawn Raid (Peej)
Useful colt who has won 5 of his 7 starts, he made a winning debut in a 7f Kempton maiden in November 2011, beating Galician a neck. He then ran 5 times with out success, before scoring again at Wolverhampton in a 7f handicap in October 2012, beating Fast Finian 1 ¼ l., then followed up at Lingfield in November, beating Storm King ½ l in a 1m handicap. He was then third over 7f at Wolverhampton before winning again at Lingfield this February, taking a 1m handicap by ¾ l from George Guru. He then followed up at Wolverhampton in a 7f listed event, beating Kenny Powers a short head, and on his last run , was third in a 1m Kempton handicap, beaten 1 ½ l behind Es Que Love. From an up and coming yard, he looks a fun horse for Peej this season.
Trainer M Botti

Flat Profile - Sir Walter Scott

Sir Walter Scott 3 y bc Galileo – Flamingo Sea (Tony)
A real dark horse he has won his only start a 7f Dundalk maiden in September last year beating Seeking Luck by a neck. He holds English, Irish derby entries and is in the King George, so is obviously considered capable of a lot more this season and could be any thing.
Trainer A O’Brien

Flat Profile - Regal Dan

Regal Dan 3 y bc  Dark Angel – Charlene Lacy (Cod)
Colt who has one win from 8 starts, that came on his 7th appearance at Doncaster over 7f in a nursery, where he beat Red Avenger a head. He was never far away in his other runs, finishing 3rd on his debut over 5f at Windor, beaten 1 ¼ l behind Badalini, then 4th in a similar event at Doncaster, beaten 2l by Yes Two, then was third again at Salisbury, again in a 5f maiden, this time 2l behind the smart Bungleinthejungle. He was then 4th in a 5f Sandown maiden and 5th at Haydock, 2l behind Baracouda Boy. He reappeared at Newmarket recently in a 6f handicap , finishing 2nd to Shadaroba, beaten 1l, and should pick up a handicap or two this season.
Trainer C.Hills

Flat Profile - Producer

Producer 4 y ch c Dutch Art – River Saint (Martin)
Colt who has won 6 of his 16 starts, Martin should at least get a fair few runs out of this one. He scored on his 2nd run as a two year old, winning at Epsom in a 7f maiden beating Couresy Call 4l, and followed up over course and distance in a nursery, beating Always Ends Well 2 ¾ l. She completed a hatrick of course and wins in September when taking another nursery by 1 ¼ l from Tidy Affair. Her next win was as a three year old, taking a listed event again over Epsom’s 7f’s beating Justineo 3 1/4l, then 2 runs later won a 7f group 3 at Goodwood by ½ l from The Cheka. She ran a further 5 times with out success, but reappeared this season in a 7f listed event at Leicester, she beat Aljamaheer a head and is a very smart Colt over 7f. Definitely one to back at Epsom and Goodwood over his specialist distance
Trainer R Hannon

Flat Profile - Ocovango

Ocovango  3 y bc Monsun – Crystal Maze(Neil)
Unbeaten in two starts, he made his debut at on 1 November in a 1m unraced colts event , winning by 2 ½ l from Bravodino. He followed up at the end of March this year at Saint-m Cloud, taking a 1m 2f listed event by 1 ½ l from Park Reel, and comes from a very powerful stable who should place him to maximum effect
Trainer A. Fabre

Flat Profile - Mars

Mars 3 y ch c Galileo – Massarra (Neil, Peej, Tony)
Unbeaten colt who won his only start at Dundalk in July last year beating The Ferryman 4 ¾ l in a 7f 11 runner maiden for which he went off 4/7 f, so was obviously highly thought of. Restricted to the one run as needs quick ground, he heads the stables Derby entries, and is to the fore of the market, so is expected to have a good season.
Trainer A’O Brien

Flat Profile - Lady Nouf

Lady Nouf  3 y bf  Teofilo – Majestic  Sakeena(Tony)
Filly who made a winning debut in a high class 7f Leicester maiden in October where she had the highly rated  Secret Gesture 1l behind in 2nd and Desert Image in 3rd. Picked out as one to follow this season by her trainer, she let the side down on her reappearance when only 11th, beaten 17 ¾ l behind Hot Snap at Newmarket. Whilst the stable has yet to hit form that was disappointing and her next run will be interesting to watch.
Trainer   W. Haggas

Flat Profile - Kingsbarns

Kingsbarns 3ybc Gallileo- Beltisaal (Cliff, Cod,  Peej, Tony)
Potentially top clas colt who won both starts last season. He did not appear until 10 October, when he won a 1 mile Navan maiden by 7l from Risk Return. H then came to Doncaster for the 1m Racing Post Trophy, which he won in taking style by 1 ¾ l from Van De Neer, and immediately became a leading Derby fancy. He has had a poisoned foot which has held up his preparation considerably and he is only 50/50 to make the big race.

He finished with a rather tame 7th in the Arc at Longchamp, beaten 12 ½ l behind Slemia. He can be forgiven that and should prove a force in all the big races this season.
