We start at Ascot on Friday where in the 2m 3f novice hurdle Crambo (Martin), took his chance, Took keen hold, towards rear, ridden and headway before 2 out, went second before last, led run-in, kept on well, won going away by 3 ¼ l. He gets 28 points.

On Saturday in the 2m 5f grade 2 chase, Coole Cody (Cod), went to post, Jumped right throughout, led, headed and raced in second after 1st, pushed along and headway before 2 out, ridden and led 2 out, clear approaching last, kept on well , winning by 10l. He gets 47.5 points.

At Haydock in the 2m 5f graduation chase Hitman (Peej) went to post, Made all, not fluent 10th, went clear going easily after 2 out, winning readily by11l. He gets 23.24 points.

In the 3m 1f grade 1 Lancashire Chase Protektorat ( Peej, Steve), took his chance, Jumped well, in touch with leaders, good jump and went second 11th, led going easily 4 out, 4 lengths ahead 2 out, ridden and went well clear after 2 out, kept on strongly, winning  impressively by 11l. He gets 58.5 points.

Aidan Coleman knows Epatante might have to raise her game again if she is to win the Betfair Fighting Fifth Hurdle for the third time on Saturday. The Nicky Henderson-trained mare was successful in 2020, beating Sceau Royal, and went from there to be second in the Christmas Hurdle, while last year she dead-heated with Not So Sleepy at Newcastle before this time landing the Christmas Hurdle.

She was not seen again after Boxing Day until the Champion Hurdle in March, where she was second to Honeysuckle in the two-mile championship she lifted in 2020. Brilliant afterwards in the Aintree Hurdle, the JP McManus-owned eight-year-old now has the daunting prospect of getting the better of stablemate Constitution Hill if she is to join Comedy Of Errors and Birds Nest as a three-time Fighting Fifth winner, after he was rerouted from Ascot last weekend.

Pied Piper will not line up against Constitution Hill and Epatante in the Betfair Fighting Fifth Hurdle at Newcastle on Saturday, Gordon Elliott has confirmed.

We start at Cheltenham on Saturday where in the 2m grade 2 Juvenile hurdle, Scriptwriter ( Cod), went to post, Took keen hold, midfield, prominent when mistake 3 out, stumbled but led just after last, soon ridden, hung right against near rail but kept on well run-in, winning by 2 ¼ l. He gets 50 points.

On Sunday in the 2m handicap hurdle, I Like To Move It (Peej), took his chance, Took keen hold, led, headed and prominent 1st, led again just after 4 out, not fluent 2 out (usual 3 out), pushed along and hard pressed last (usual 2 out), ridden and kept on strongly inside final furlong, won going away by 5 ½ l. He gets 39 points.

On Monday at Exeter in the 2m 3f novice chase McFabulous (Cliff), went to post, Made all, hampered by loose horse after 4th, faced strong challenge 3 out, shaken up and went clear again after 2 out, not fluent last, winning readily by 9l. He gets 24 points

At Warwick on Wednesday, Jonbon (Martin, Steve), took his chance in the 2m novice chase,  Jumped well, made all, went clear from 3 out, pushed along run-in, winning  impressively by 7l. He gets 11.4 points.

Top class mare for the Grey Brigade, she made her debut at Lyon Parilly in November 2016, finishing 23^rd in a 1m 2f maiden beaten 8l, then in December in a 1m 2f maiden at Deauville, finished 4^th, beaten 2 ¼ l behind Zaitana She made her hurdles debut at Auteuil in March 2017, finishing 4^th in a conditions race for fillies unraced over hurdles, beaten 6 ¾ l by Santa Adelia, then in May again at Auteuil, won a 2m 1f 3y conditions fillies hurdle by 5l from Spring In The Air ( gave 7lb). In June again at Auteuil she was third in a grade 3 fillies hurdle, beaten 12 l by Gold Filly. She then was 2^nd at Auteuil again in a 2m2 f fillies listed hurdle, beaten 6l by Whetstone (gave 4lb), then in October over course and distance in an identical race, was again 2^nd to Whetstone (gave 4lb), beaten 6 ½ l.  Her last run in France was again at Auteuil, a grade 3 3y fillies hurdle, she was 2^nd again to Whetstone (gave 4lb), but was only 2l down this time.

She then moved to Willie Mullins and made her Irish debut at Leopardstown in December 2018, finishing 2^nd in a 2m 4f mares hurdle, beaten ½ l by stablemate Good Thyne Tara (gave 10lb), then in March 2019, at Cheltenham was 6^th in the 2m 4f grade 1 mares hurdle, beaten 21  ½ l behind Roxsana. In May at Punchestown she won a 2m 4f hurdle by 17l from Days Without Ends (gave 1 1lb), then 2 weeks later at Killarney won a 2m 1f listed mares hurdle by 7l from Kilbarry Way (received 7lb). She reappeared in at Cork, winning a grade 3 mares novice chase by 5l from Augusta Gold, and followed up at Thurles in January, winning a 2m 4f grade 2 mares novice chase by 9l from Cut The Mustard (received 3lb),. Presumably she picked up an injury as she was off for 301 days, reappearing at Punchestown in November 2020, finishing 2^nd in a 2m 2f mares listed hurdle, beaten a nose by Buildmeupbuttercup, then in January in a 2m 4f grade 2 chase at Thurles, was beaten 2l behind Allaho (gave 2lb). She then won a 2m mares listed chase at Naas in February , beating Shattered Love (received 5lb) 5 ½ l , then at the Cheltenham festival, was 2^nd in the 2m 4f grade 2 mares chase, beaten ½ l by Colreeevy (gave 2lb). She finished the season with a win at Fairyhouse in April, taking a 2m 5f mares listed chase by 1 ¼ l from Demi Plie (received 8lb). She reappeared in December 2021 at Aintree, finishing third in a 2m 4f mares listed chase, beaten 14 ¾ l behind Zambella, then last January at Fairyhouse in a 2m 5f mares grade 3 chase, was 2^nd, beaten ½ l by Mount Ida (gave 3lb). In February at Naas she won a 2m listed mares chase by 5l from Court Maid (received 3lb), then in March at Cheltenham, won the 2m 4f grade 2 mares novice chase by ½ l from Pink Legend. High class novice hurdler who impressed trainer and jockey on his last start, prompting Willie Mullins to suggest he will be aimed at the Champion hurdle this season. He made his debut at Auteuil in May 2020, finishing 2^nd in a 1m 7f, conditions hurdle for unraced colts and geldings over obstacles, finishing 2l 2^nd to Bussleton. He then moved to Willie Mullins and made his Irish debut at Leopardstown in December 2021 , where he fell 2 out when having every chance in a 2m maiden hurdle. In February this year he won a 2m maiden hurdle at Limerick by 12 l from Plains Indian (received 4lb), then in March at Cheltenham won a grade 3 2m 1f handicap hurdle by 1 ¼ l from First Street (gave 1 lb), and finished the season with victory at Punchestown in April, taking the 2m 3f grade 1 Champion novice hurdle by 7l from Flame Bearer.
