It
is nice to see flat horses becoming regulars in the handbook, and The Tin Man
is one, having developed in to a very smart performer. Un raced at 2, he is
Fairly lightly raced for a 5 year old, he has had only 11 starts, but he has
won 6 of those, 4 at Group 1 level
and one at Group 3. His firat win came on his second appearance, winning a 6f
Doncaster maiden in June 2015 by 1 l from Ski Blast, and followed up over
course and distance in a handicap the following month, beating Kassbaan 2 ½ l.
He was then a disappointing 8th at York in a 6f handicap, but
returned to form at Ascot in early October, winning another 6f handicap by an
impressive 4 ½ l from Dawn’s Early Light.
He took a huge step up in class for his final run of the season,
finishing 4th in the Group 1 6f sprint stakes on Champions day,
beaten 3 ½ l by Muharaar.
He
reappeared at Windsor last year in a 6f listed race, beating Watchable 2l, then
finished only 8th at Royal Ascot in the Group 1 6f Diamond Jubilee
stakes, beaten 6l behind Twilight Son. He then won a 6f Group 3 at Newbury,
beating Divine a head, then was second in the Group 1 Haydock Sprint Cup,
beaten 1 ¾ l by Quiet Reflection, before finishing with victory at Ascot on
Champions day , winning the Group 1 sprint by 1l from Growl.
He
will again make his presence felt in the top sprints.
