One of the dark horses, he made a winning debut at Leicester in September, taking a 7f novice stakes by 2 ¾ l from Macho Boy. The stable doesn’t have many 2 year old winners so that was highly encouraging, and he holds entries in the Irish 1000 Guineas and both English and Irish Derbies. Alan Cooper, manager for the Niarchos family told the Punter, Highest Ground is a horse we hope will go down the Classic trial route. He is inexperienced, which is not ideal for an early-season Classic. We'll let Sir Michael bring him along and see where we end up. He could be entered for races like the Prix du Jockey Club.
