High class chaser who missed all last season with a splint problem, but is back in full work.  Lightly raced but with an impressive 8/9 of wins to runs, he will be out to make up for the loss of last season. He started in Ireland as a pointer, taking a 5 year old maiden at Kirkstown in February 2011, by ¾ l from Ballywatt, then fell at Castletown. He resumed winning ways at Limavady in April beating An Fear Aituil, then took an ex pointer champion bumper at Fairyhouse by 13l from Kandinski. He then came across the water and made a winning debut at Ascot in November 2011, beating Brass Tax 11l in a 2m 3f novice hurdle, and then had his only defeat at Sandown when second in the 2m 4f grade 2 hurdle, 2 ¼ l behind Fingal Bay. He then won over 2m 2f at Kelso beating Knockara Beau 2 ¼ l, followed up at Cheltenham at the Festival taking the Neptune hurdle by 7l from Felix Younger, and finished the season at Aintree taking the 2m 4f grade 2 hurdle by 15l from Super Duty. He returned in December 2012 at Ascot, winning the 2m 3f grade 2 novice chase by 49l from Sulpius, followed up at Kempton in a 2m grade 2 novice chase, slamming the useful Hinterland 35 l, and was last seen winning at the festival in March 2013, taking the 2m Grade 1 Arkle chase by 2 ¼ l from Bally Green. The plan is to step him up to 3 miles and the King George is his big target. If he stays further, he could be a Gold Cup horse next March
