4 ybg Harzand – Zubova (Peej)
Typical of a Mark Johnston horse, he has been pretty busy in his first 2 seasons. He made his debut at Nottingham in October 2020, finishing 3rd in a 1m maiden, beaten 4l by Set point, then 2 weeks later in a 1m 1f Redcar novice stakes, was 3rd again beaten 3 ¼ l by Golden Dove (received 5lb). He finished the season back at Nottingham in a 1 maiden, finishing 8th beaten 14 ¼ l by Simons King.
He reappeared at Doncaster last April, finishing 2nd in a 1m 3f handicap, beaten a head by Valparaiso(received 1 lb), then in May was 4th in a 1m 4f Salisbury handicap, beaten 9 ½ l behind Reverend Hubert ( received 3lb). At the end of the month he got off the mark at Chester, winning a 1m 4f handicap by ¾l from Snow Ocean ( gave 25 lb), then followed up at Haydock in a 1m 6f handicap, beating Oceanline 2 ¾ l. He was then 13 th at Royal Ascot in a 1m 4f handicap, but only beaten 7l behind Sure Fire (gave 1lb), then finished the season at Haydock in a 1m 6f handicap, beaten 10 l in 7th behind Tashkan (received 7lb).
One assumes he picked up an injury, but at the time of writing held a number of entries in staying handicaps, and should prove interesting in those this season.
