We start at Newbury on Friday, where in the 2m 4f novice hurdle where Kateson ( Neil) went to post, Chased leaders, 2nd after 4 out, led next, 2 lengths ahead last, kept on well run-in, winning by 1 ¾ l. He gets 24.2 points.
On Saturday at Newbury in the 2m 7f grade 2
novice chase Santini ( Bob,
Martin, Steve), took his chance, Held up in
5th on inside, closer tracking leaders 7th, mistake and lost place 11th,
rallied into 3rd again before 4 out, 2nd travelling well 2 out, 1 length down
and not fluent last, led run-in, stayed on, winning by 4l. He gets 16.9 points.
In the 2m listed handicap hurdle Global Citizen ( Cliff),
went to post, Raced freely, made all, 2 1/2 lengths up last, held on gamely,
driven out, winning by ½ l. He gets 70.8 points
In the 3m 2f handicap chase Elegant Escape ( Steve),
took his chance, Chased leaders, pushed along from 13th, ridden into 3rd after
4 out, stayed on into 2nd when awkward last but never any threat to winner, 2nd
beaten 10l . He gets 24 points.
At Bangor in the 2m 4f Beginners Chase, Jerrysback ( Bob),
took his chance, Jumped right, mid-division,
headway into 3rd 3 out, pushed along to close on leaders before 2 out, driven
last where left in 2 lengths 2nd, pushed along to lead last 100yds, winning
quite cleverly quite cleverly by 1l. He gets 60
points.
At Newcastle in the 2m grade 1 Fighting
Fifth hurdle, Buveur D’Air (not Cliff),
, Tracked leader, always travelling well, led approaching when mistake
last, quickened clear, winning impressively by 8l. He gets 51.9 points.
At Plumpton on Monday in the 2m 1f novice chase Kalashnikov ( Bob, Cliff, Steve), went to post, Pressed leader, led 9th, drew clear after 3 out, in no danger after, unextended,winning very easily by 18l. He gets11 .1 points
