Hennessy Gold Cup hero Native River looks like taking his chance in the Coral Welsh National after a change of heart from Colin Tizzard

In the immediate aftermath of the Newbury contest, in which the six-year-old maintained Tizzard's fine run of form this season with a half-length defeat of Carole's Destrier, the red-hot handler appeared cool on the prospect of heading to Chepstow for the second-season chaser's next start, saying: "He's a stayer but he might just be a bit better than that."
However, the December 27 marathon is back on the agenda after Tizzard told the Punter  "We're now very keen to go for the Welsh National.
