Still only 6 he is already established
as a top class staying chaser, he was looked after last year running just four
times, and although he only finished in front once he ran same good races in
defeat. His reappearance was in the Hennessey Gold Cup where he travelled well
for a long way before fading to finish 8th, and then in January won
a big handicap at Gowran Park 0ver
3m 1f, giving at least 6lb to the field and beating My Murphy 8l. He then
finished 2nd beaten 1 ½ l by Conygree in the Cheltenham Gold Cup,
and then finished 7l behind Don Cossack in the Punchestown Gold Cup in April. He
aws two years younger than any thing in the race, so should have more
improvement than most, and is a big player in the staying chases.
