2025/26 Jumps Profile - We’re Red And Blue

5 y bg  Blue Bresil – Samaraiya  (Cliff)

Perfectly named for the Editor’s string, I am hoping he will win a handicap  hurdle this season, although he probably won’t take top rank. He made his debut at Hereford in February this year, wining a 2m bumper by a short head from Ocean Waltz. He went off 8/11 fav that day so obviously had shown up well at home. At the end of March he was sent to Fairyhouse for a 2m sales bumper, finishing 4th, beaten 38 l behind Kopek Des Bordes, who is considered one of the Closutton’s better novices this season.

He reappeared at Chepstow in October and unseated at the 2nd in a 2m novice hurdle, but galloped round loose, jumping the rest well and finishing in front of the “winner”, so hopefully with a clear round he can win again. He reappeared a week later at Uttoxeter and made nearly all the running in a 2m novice hurdle, being caught on the run in by odds on Wade Out (gave 1lb), who was completing a hat trick.

He ran recently at Carlisle winning a 2m 1f maiden hurdle by 2 ¼ l from Jet o Vegas, and hopefully will progress from this. In December he was pulled up in a 2m handicap hurdle and was reported to be bleeding from his nose afterwards. He reappeared at Kelso in February this year winning a 2m novice hurdle by 11l from Blazer Two (received 12 lb), At Sandown in March he was 8th in a 2m handicap hurdle beaten 5l behind Go Dante (gave 6lb), and finished the season at Sandown in the 2m novice championship handicap hurdle final , finishing 7th beaten 10 ¾ l by Give It To Me OJ (GAVE 9LB). Jon Jo told the Punter that he feels he will improve again his season and should win a handicap at least.
