2025/26 Jumps Profile - Sir Gino

5y bg It’s Gino – Anzi Star  (Bob, Steve)

He remains one of the most potentially exciting chasers in training, and it was frustrating that he suffered an injury and infection after just one run last season.

He made his debut at Auteuil in April 2023, winning a 1m 7f listed hurdle for 3y colts and geldings unraced over obstacles by 1 ¾ l from Salvator Mundi. Moving to Nicky Henderson he reappeared at Kempton in December, winning a 2m juvenile hurdle by 14 l from Royal Way(received 5 lb), then in January last year at Cheltenham, won a 2m 1f grade 2 juvenile hurdle by 10 l from Burdett Road.

In April at Aintree he won the 2m 1f grade 1 Boodles juvenile hurdle by 3 ¼ l from Kargese (received 7 lb), and reappeared at Newcastle last November, winning the 2m grade 1 Fighting Fifth hurdle by 8l from Lump Sum. He then went to Kempton in December and won a 2m grade 2 novice chase by 7 ½ l from Ballyburn (gave 7lb).
