Was a good pick from Peej last season and should go well again this time round. He made his debut at Auteuil in April 2023, finishing 2nd in a 1m 7f 3year listed unraced colts and geldings over obstacles stakes, beaten 1 ¾ l by Sir Gino. Moving to Willie Mullins he made his stable debut at Cheltenham in March last year, finishing 6th beaten 17 l in the 2m 1f grade 1 Triumph hurdle behind Majborough.
He reappeared at Tipperary in May, winning a 2m maiden hurdle by 62 l from Mrs TK (received 7lb), then in January this year at Punchestown, won a 2m 1f grade 2 novice hurdle by 3l from Kel Histoire, then at Cheltenham in March was disappointing in the 2m grade 1 Supreme novice hurdle, finishing 5th, beaten 18 ½ l by Kopek Des Bordes. He then won the 2m grade 1 Top novice hurdle at Aintree in April, beating Romeo Coolio 7l, and finished at Punchestown 3 weeks later, finishing 2nd to Irancy, beaten 9l in the 2m grade 1 Champion novice hurdle.
Willie Mullins told The Punter: "He’s a very strong-going horse. The Donnellys have State Man and Anzadam already, but I think this fella could be another one of Champion Hurdle quality if he was asked to do that. However, looking at how keen he is in his races, we’re going to go over fences with him and give him the chance to be an Arkle horse. He has huge ability, a lot more than he has shown on the track so far. If he settles better over fences, he’ll hopefully show on the track what he has shown us at home."
