Tough
, consistent and high class addition to the stayers ranks, he had a fine season
last year winning 3 times, the first at Royal Ascot in June taking the 1m 6f
group 2 Queens Vase by 4 ½ l from Southern France, then Group 1 Grand Prix De
Paris at Longchamp, beating Neufbosc 1 1/4l, and finally 1m 6f Group 1 St Leger
stakes at Doncaster, beating La Ti Dar 2 ¼ l. I between he ran well at
Lingfield in May finishing 2nd over 1m 4f in the Derby Trial beaten 3
¼ l by Knight To Behold, finished 9th in the Epsom Derby, 27 l behind Masar, and 3rd
in the group 2 1m 4f Great Voltigeur stakes at York, 1 ¾ l behind Old Persian.
Whether he can get near Stradivarius time will tell but he should pick up some
decent races if given the chance. Speaking to the punter recently Aiden told
the punter, "He is in good form. The Coronation Cup is a race we are looking to
aim him towards. I think the plan would be to start over a mile and a half
somewhere, then take in the Coronation Cup before going for the King George. He
stays very well and has plenty of options over a longer trip if we want to do
that."
