2019 Flat - Editor's Introduction

A fascinating season is in store. Can Enable win a 3rd Arc De Triomphe is the biggest question, and the battle between Coolmore and Godolphin looks to be close again as Godolphin continue to strengthen. John Gosden looks to have the trainers championship in the bag, as he starts with top 2 year old colt Too Darn Hot, as well as Enable, Calyx and Stradivarius to name just 4 !
The stayers division looks exciting this season. Stradivarius had it to himself last season, with only Vazirabad at Royal Ascot giving him a race. The million pound bonus has seen some strong opposition start the season this time, and joining Vazirabad as serious opponents are Call The Wind and Capri, who beat Stradivarius in the St Leger in 2017.
Enable looks to face a stern test from Japanese star Almond Eye in the Arc, along with Masar at present, and we have a new power house in King Power hitting the scene and they have a few representatives in the strings.
We again have interesting foreign interest at Royal Ascot with the very smart Newspaperofrecord from the USA being aimed at the Coronation stakes.
We have 110 different horses, nothing in every string, Enable being most popular with 6 picks, I have tried to cover some established stars, some classic favourites, and un exposed ones, hope you enjoy the read and good luck
The Editor
