Very
Useful performer who is the reigning champion hurdler, he made his debut at
Newbury in November 2009, in a 2m bumper finishing 5l 4th to Oscar
Whiskey, then won a similar event over 2m 1f at Taunton in February 2010, by ¾
l from Karensir. He followed up at Cheltenham in November, in a 2m listed
bumper, beating Laveroque 5l, and then won at 2m novice hurdle at Newbury in
December by 6l from Megastar. He went to Cheltenham in January 2011, in a 2m 4f
grade 2 novice hurdle, finishing 2 ¾ l 2nd to Bob’s Worth, and was
then second to First Lieutenant at the festival, beaten ¾ l in the 2m 5f
Neptune novice hurdle, and finished with 3rd at Aintree in the 2m 4f
grade 2 novice hurdle, beaten 21 by Spirit Son. He reappeared last season at
Newbury in November in a 2m listed hurdle, beating Empire Levant 6l, then
finished a neck 2nd to Binocular at Kempton in the grade 1 Christmas
hurdle. He then won the Champion hurdle at the festival by 3 ¼ l from Overturn
and finished the season with a third at Aintree, beaten 5l by Oscar Whiskey in
the 2m 4f grade 1 John Smiths hurdle. He officially moves to Harry Fry this
year and will hopefully prove to be a tough nut to crack in the top 2 mile
events.
