Bought for 110,000gns out of Edward Lynam’s stable by Donald McCain he was bred for Epsom being by Sea The Stars out of a Sadlers Wells mare but is now being targeted at Cheltenham . McCain said  ‘On the flat Starchitect was only beaten 1 ½ lengths by Table Rock from Aiden O’Brien’s stable who has gone on to win three races including a listed contest at Newmarket.   He’s a big scopey sort who goes on the soft and is by a great sire and I’m hoping he’ll be a Triumph Hurdle prospect.’ Since starting his jumping career he has won his first two starts, an easy victory at Bangor and more recently a good contest at Aintree beating a well-regarded Martin Pipe prospect.

High class chaser who missed all last season with a splint problem, but is back in full work.  Lightly raced but with an impressive 8/9 of wins to runs, he will be out to make up for the loss of last season. He started in Ireland as a pointer, taking a 5 year old maiden at Kirkstown in February 2011, by ¾ l from Ballywatt, then fell at Castletown. He resumed winning ways at Limavady in April beating An Fear Aituil, then took an ex pointer champion bumper at Fairyhouse by 13l from Kandinski. He then came across the water and made a winning debut at Ascot in November 2011, beating Brass Tax 11l in a 2m 3f novice hurdle, and then had his only defeat at Sandown when second in the 2m 4f grade 2 hurdle, 2 ¼ l behind Fingal Bay. He then won over 2m 2f at Kelso beating Knockara Beau 2 ¼ l, followed up at Cheltenham at the Festival taking the Neptune hurdle by 7l from Felix Younger, and finished the season at Aintree taking the 2m 4f grade 2 hurdle by 15l from Super Duty. He returned in December 2012 at Ascot, winning the 2m 3f grade 2 novice chase by 49l from Sulpius, followed up at Kempton in a 2m grade 2 novice chase, slamming the useful Hinterland 35 l, and was last seen winning at the festival in March 2013, taking the 2m Grade 1 Arkle chase by 2 ¼ l from Bally Green. The plan is to step him up to 3 miles and the King George is his big target. If he stays further, he could be a Gold Cup horse next March

Very smart chaser who has won 5 of his 20 starts. He made four appearances in France without winning before joining Alan King in the summer of 2010, and he made a winning debut at Newbury that November, taking a 2m 1 f Juvenile hurdle by 27 l, beating Dolatoulu (gave 10 lb), the 1- 4 f.  He was then 3rd at Chepstow, but resumed winnng ways in February 2011, taking a 2m novice hurdle at Wincanton by 2 ¼ l from Jump City. He then ran 10th at the Festival in the Triumph Hurdle finishing 11l behind Zarkandar, and was put away for the season. He reappeared at Ascot in January 2012, winning a 2m 3f limited handicap hurdle by 7l, giving 6lb to runner up Shoreacres, then was second over course and distance to Bourne in a handicap, before returning to Cheltenham in March where he was 8 ¾ l third to Big Bucks in the 3m Grade 1 World Hurdle. He then went to Aintree where he unseated. Reappearing at Wetherby in November 2012, he was 24 ½ l third to Tidal Bay in a 3m 1 f grade 2hurdle, then was 14 l Second to Reve De Sivola in the 3m 1f Grade 1 Long Walk hurdle at Ascot in December. He was again third in the World Hurdle at the Festival, 5 ½ l behind Solwhit, and filled the same place in the Grade 1 3m Aintree hurdle, but got a length closer. Sent over fences last season, he appeared at Huntingdon in November where he unseated in a Novice Chase,  but got off the mark over 3 at Exeter in a similar event beating Ardkilly Witness 7l. He followed up at Newbury in a similar event in February, beating Sam Winner 2l, and then ran second to O’Faolains Boy in the RSA chase at the festival, beaten just a neck. He is due to reappear in the Hennessey at Newbury in November and should win his share of races at least but could well end up in the Gold Cup in March.

Worth including for the name alone, but trained by Paul Nicholls and winner of his only start, a 2m bumper at Chepstow in April, where he beat the highly regarded Rock The Kasbah 4 ½ l , he is well regarded at Ditcheat, and should make his mark in novice hurdles this season

Probably the best bumper horse of last season on both sides of the water, he should high rank amongst the novice hurdlers this season. He first appeared in February 2013 at Bennetsbridge in a 2m 4f maiden point, finishing 6l third to Howlongisafoot, then moved to Willie Mullins and won 2m bumper at Navan in October 2013 by 2l from Joshua Lane. He followed up under a penalty in November, beating The Herds Garden 11l at Fairyhousein a similar event, then came to the Cheltenham festival, where he was 1 ½ l second to Silver Concorde in the Champion bumper. He finished the season at Punchestown, winning the Irish Champion bumper and turning over Cheltenham form by beating Silver Concorde 2l.
