Cod loves a Juke Box so no surprise to see this high class horse in his string. He made his debut at Turtulla in November 2022, winning a 3m 4y geldings point by 6l from Cleatus Poolaw, then in March 2023, reappeared a Chepstow, finishing 2nd in a 2m bumper, beaten 6l by Gidleigh Park. In April at Ffos Las, he won a 2m bumper by 4 ¾ l from He Knows Better, then reappeared at Ffos Las in November last year, winning a 2m 4f maiden hurdle by 5l from Golden De Coer.
In December he followed up over course and distance in a similar event, beating House of Stories (received 7lb), 4 ¾ l then 2 weeks later a Newbury in the 2m 4f grade 1 Challow hurdle, finished 3rd beaten 1 ¾ l behind Captain Teague. In March this year at Cheltenham, he finished 2nd in the 3m grade 1 Albert Bartlett novice hurdle, beaten a head by Stellar Story, and finished he season at Aintree with 2nd in the 3m grade 1 Sefton novice hurdle, beaten 5 ½ l by Dancing City.
Ben Pauling told the Punter, I am not convinced he needs 3 miles, we will start him off over fences in a 2m 4f beginners chase before progressing in to graded company. The grade 1 Kauto star novice chase on Boxing day is a possibility. He should certainly win races this season
