Possibly the
most under rated horse around at present, mainly because he tends to be over
shadowed by Altior, he could be the main beneficiary should Altior be missing
from the Champion chase in April.
He made his debut at Auteuil in September 2014,
in a 2m 2f listed race for unraced 3 y old colts and geldings, finishing 4th
beaten 15l by Solonder, then in November was 3rd over course in a
conditions hurdle, finishing 6 ¼ l behind Celtino. He moved to Willie Mullins
and made his Irish debut at Punchestown in December 2015, winning a 2m 2f
maiden hurdle by 14 l from Gurteen, then in
January 2016, won a 2m grade 2 novice hurdle at Punchestown, beating
Attribution 9 ½ l, and finished the season with 2nd in the Supreme
novice hurdle at Cheltenham, beaten 7l by Altior. He reappeared at Navan in
November , winning a 2m 1f beginners chase by 10l from Three Wise Men, then in
December at Leopardstowm won a 2m 1f grade 1 novice chase by 9l from Ordinary
World. He was then off for 334 days and reappeared at Gowran Park in November 2017, winning a 2m
4f chase by 36 l from Flaxen Flare. He then took a 2m 1f grade 1 chase at
Leopardstown in December beating Simply Ned ½ l, then in February over course
and distance, beat the same rival by 12l. He then came back to Cheltenham and
was second to Altior in the 2m grade 1 Queen Mother Champion chase, beaten 7l, then was 2nd at
Aintree in the 2m 4f grade 1 , beaten a neck by Politolouge. He finished the
season with 4th at Punchestown in the 2m Champion chase, finishing
15 ¼ l behind Un De Seaux. He reappeared at Punchestown in December 2018,
winning the 2m 4f grade 1 John Durkan Memorial chase by 1 ½ l from Shattered
Love (received 7lb), then in February this year took a 2m 1f grade 1 chase at
Leopardstown by 6l from Ordinary World. He then came back to Cheltenham and
again finished behind Altior in the Queen
Mother Champion chase, but this time was a disappointing 5th, beaten
11 ¼ l. He was back to form at Aintree in April winning the 2m 4f grade 1
Melling chase, beating Politolouge by 20l, and finished the season with 2nd
to Un De Sceaux in the 2m grade 1 Champion Chase, beaten 4l. He sets a high
standard among the 2m chasers.
