Hi class colt who made his debut in May last year in a 6f
maiden at the Curragh, finishing 5th, beaten 4 ½ l by My Chance,
then won a 7f maiden again at the Curragh in July beating Would Be King 1 ¾ l.
Stepped up in class 2 weeks later at Newmarket he was a head winner of a 7f
group 2from Nebo. Not seen again until April this year he won a 7f listed race
at Leopardstown by 1 ¾ l from Imagining, a performance that saw bookmakers
elevate him to favourite for the 2000 guineas. I am not sure about that but
Aiden O’ Brien told the punter recently, "We're thinking the Guineas with Gustav Klimt
and he could go to Leopardstown on the way there for the trial. Because he
missed the second half of last year, and he's a little bit round still, he
might take a run in Leopardstown. He was a little bit wrong behind last year
and we think it was a muscle behind."
