Flat 2014 - Editor's Introduction

Well here we go again for another summer of fun, the Crystal balls have been rubbed and the 3 year olds that emerged have been chosen !

We welcome Lee back to the competition , which adds a bit more strength in depth.

Whilst one expects a big challenge from Ireland again for the classics, an O’Brien domination does not look quite so assured this year with, Kingman, Kingston Hill, and True Story, just 3 English trained colts to the fore in the classic betting, we will see. With Australia having 6 picks and Tapestry only 4 , it is obvious there are not quite such the good things acoss the water, that there are some seasons.

As Always this competition is a barometer of the ups and downs in the racing world, and trainer Michael Appleby is one who hits the up spot.

As always there are suprises, and Rizeena being a single pick is certainly one of them , Lee will be amazed and delighted as will Peej with Lucky Kristale. There are many strong looking single picks and every one has a fair number. We have 114 different horses, of which I  make an incredible 88 single picks !! So great work folks, and the increasing number of top class 4 year olds has obviously helped this along Kingman is the only horse in all strings

Good Luck all,

The Editor
