2024/25 Jumps Profile - Caldwell Potter

6 y gr g Martaline – Matnie   (Cliff, Neil,Peej,  Steve)

He briefly held the record as the most expensive jumps horse in training, when sold for 740,000 euro’s but lost that tag to Stablemate Regents Stroll a few months later. On course, he made his debut at  Punchestown in April 2022, finishing 8th, beaten 18 l in a 2m bumper, behind Absolute Notions.

Reappearing in November over course and distance in another bumper, he won, beating Cardamon Hill (received 7lb) 7 ½ l , then in December at Leopardstown was 6th beaten 24 ½ l in another 2m bumper behind Facile Mode (received 14 lb). He then in February last year finished 3rd in another 2m bumper at Nass, finishing 4 ¾ l behind Stellar Story (received 5lb), then reappeared at Punchestown in November, finishing 2nd in a 2m maiden hurdle, beaten 1 ½ l by It’s For Me. In December at Navan he won a 2m maiden hurdle by 7l from Gorgeous Tom, then 3 weeks later followed up at Leopardstown winning the 2m grade 1 Future Champions novice hurdle by 6 ½ l from Predators Gold.

He was trained by Gordon Elliott up till then and has since moved to Paul Nicholls after that sale. His reappearance will be very interesting and he is due to go novice chasing.
