Bob has
taken a decision to go the Cod route on some his string this year, so a number
of Bob’s are in his string. This one is a useful handicap hurdler, who has won
6 times from 37 runs, but has a better strike rate over hurdles. Trained by
Philip Deegan on the flat, he only won once, a 1m 7f handicap at Leopardstown
in September 2017, beating Bobabout 3l . He moved to Willie Mullins in July
last year and unseated on his hurdling debut, and got off the mark on his 4th
attempt winning a 2m handicap hurdle at Wexford last October, beating Walkers
Point 1 ¾ l, he was then second 3 times, at Cork, Clonmel and Tramore, before
winning again at Fairyhouse in January this year, taking a 3m handicap hurdle
by 1l from Cher Why Not (received 16lb). He followed up at Fairyhouse in
February, winning a 2m 4f handicap hurdle by 7l from Halsafari (received 4lb),
then disappointed twice at Fairyhouse and Punchestown, before winning again at
Tipperary in June, in a 1m 4f handicap on the flat. He was second in 3 more
flat handicaps before returning to hurdles at Gowran Park in October, winning a
3m handicap hurdle by a neck from Bothar Dubh (received 10 lb). He seems capable of running about every 2
weeks , and should win more races and give Bob some fun
