High
class chaser who missed the second half of last season through injury. He has
won 7 of his 11 races, including a grade 2 hurdle at Warwick, and the 2m 5f
grade 1 Neptune novice hurdle at the Cheltenham festival in 2017. Sent chasing
last season, he won a 2m4f novice chase at Huntingdon, beating Casablanca Mixv
1 ¾ l, and followed up at Newbury where he beat Yanworth 3l in a 2m 4f grade 2
chase. He picked up his injury when third at Cheltenham in January, beaten 8 ¼
l by Yanworth. Ben Pauling told the punter, He’s come back in looking
brilliant. We’ve given him a little wind op, we just maybe heard a little bit
of a whistle that day at Cheltenham when he was beaten and it was
well-documented that he missed the Festival after suffering a foot abscess.
That is now well behind us, it’s great to have him back and we plan on going up
for the intermediate chase at Carlisle – the Colin Parker Chase – on November 4
and if that goes well then he’ll probably have an entry at Newbury (Ladbrokes
Trophy).
Trainer Ben Pauling
