2017/18 Jumps - Editor's Introduction

Well here we go again for another fascinating jump season. It was good to see Thistlecrack looking in good order at Wincanton recently, and as long as he stands the rigours of racing, he will be hard to beat come the Gold Cup. Faugheen is rumoured to be very well , but we won’t know until after the competition starts, but a few of us have taken a chance.    With Altior due to take on the experienced 2 milers and Uknowhatimeanharry, Defi Du Seuil, Yanworth, to name just a few more, there is an abundance of talent around.
Again the nets have been cast far and wide and we have another splendid variation to keep us warm through the winter. It will be interesting to see the effect of the new bonus race system, and may take a couple of seasons for us all to figure it out, but the idea of a bonus race on TV every week is great and hopefully will reward some of the lesser lights with bonus points.
Good luck to all

The Editor
