Buveur D’Air lands Aintree Hurdle

We start at Aintree last Thursday where in the 2m 4f Grade 1 Aintree hurdle, Buveur D’Air ( Lee, Martin, Peej, Steve), went to post, wore ear plugs, tracked leaders handy 2nd before 2 out, shaken up to lead approaching last, pushed clear on run in, eased closing stages, winning by 5l. He gets 51.4 points.

In the 3m grade 1 stayers Liverpool hurdle, Yanworth ( Bob, Lee, Peej, Steve), went to post, in rear , not fluent 4th, joined leaders 10th, led before 2 out, hard driven and stayed on run in, winning by 1l. He gets 28.1 points.

In the 4m 2f Grand National Handicap chase, Cause of Causes ( Cod), took his chance
Mid division, headway 25th, tracked leaders after 3 out, every chance last, stayed on well but held by winner from elbow, finishing 2nd beaten 4 ½ l. He gets 24 points.

Yorkhill is the headline act amongst 11 horses confirmed for the Ryanair Gold Cup at Fairyhouse on Easter Sunday. Title rival Gordon Elliott, still has Ball D’Arc entered.
Top-level honours are also up for grabs in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Mares Novice Hurdle Championship Final, Let’s Dance and Airlie Beach hold entries.
