Rapidly improved last season he took 4 runs to get off the mark initially. He made his debut at  Market Rasen in a 2m 1f bumper on 12 June 2009, when trained by Mick Easterby and finished 7th,  beaten 42 l behind Paint The Clouds. He then ran in a 2m 1f novice hurdle at Kelso 2 weeks later, finishing 13th, beaten 39 ¾ l behind Shiwawa.  Presumably sent to the sales he next appeared at Wincanton in February 2011, in a 3m 1f hunter chase, trained by Miss Olivia Brookshaw, and was an 80/1 shot and was pulled up.  He then moved to Patrick Rodford, and ran in a 3m 1f novice chase at Cheltenham, in April, finishing 3rd of 4 ,beaten 65 ¾ l behind Baltazahar King. He changed stables again and reappeared in November last season for Kieran Burke, in a 2m 5f novice handicap chase at Folkestone, and won by 3 ½ l from Free Speech. He then went to Fontwell in December and won a 2m 4f handicap chase by 13l from Watergate, followed up a week later back at Fontwell, winning a 2m 5f handicap chase by 5l from Time to Think.
He hen had a little rest and re appeared at Plumpton on 2nd January and was 2nd to Time to Think, beaten 3/4l in a 2m 4f handicap, when 7lb worse at the weights. He then went to Wincanton on 21 January ina 2m 5f handicap chase and won by 4l from Not So Sure Dick, followed up over course and distance in February, beating Flaming Gorge 2 ½ l,  then went to Kempton at the end of the month, beating Cool Freind 10l in a 2m 4f handicap chase. He then went to Cheltenham and won the 2m 4f novice handicap chase from White Star Line by 8l, and finished the season with a 3rd at Aintree in the 3m 1f Grade 1 Chase, beaten 3l behind Follow The Plan. He was the most improved chaser in a season for some time, and it will be interesting to see how fares this time round.
