Pride (in the name of points)*
I didn’t spot this entry but on Friday at Exeter there was a rare bumper winner** in the competition. Kingston Pride (Neil) was an odds-on winner with The Racing Post describing it as ‘comfortably’ too. One to watch? It’s 22.8 points in Neil’s battle to avoid the spoon.
Fortune favours Martin
Another one I didn’t spot was Favour and Fortune (Martin) in the Scottish Champion Hurdle who kept on well to win by half a length. Alan King was impressed and intends to aim the horse at some more big handicaps next season but for now it gives Martin 52 points which leaves Cod cut adrift at the foot of the table.

Perhaps some more big names than usual for the fag-end of the season.

The Bet365 Gold Cup (3:35) is the last Bonus Race of the season. Cod might need that winner and El Fabiolo or Langer Dan to avoid the spoon.
Flat Strings
Can I have your 20 by close of play Wednesday 1 May please. The competition starts on Saturday the 4th. I think I’m down to 48 so work to do!
* I take it you’re all familiar with U2’s 1984 top three hit of nearly the same name.
** Possibly just the 11th since November 2012
