Warren Greatrex remains keen on sending La Bague Au Roi back to Leopardstown for the Paddy Power Irish Gold Cup. The nine-year-old mare won the Flogas Novice Chase at the Dublin Racing Festival last season and is pencilled in for a return to the showpiece fixture for the 250,000 euros feature on February 2. She has options on home soil, with the Cotswold Chase at Cheltenham on Saturday week and next month's Betfair Denman Chase at Newbury in the mix, but the Lambourn handler favours another trip across the Irish Sea, provided conditions at Leopardstown are suitable

Defi Du Seuil "couldn’t be better" as he heads into Saturday's rematch with Un De Sceaux in the Matchbook Clarence House Chase at Ascot.
Philip Hobbs' charge edged out the Irish raider, a three-time winner of the weekend feature, by a neck in the Betfair Tingle Creek Chase and his trainer reports him to be giving all the right signals at home this time around. "He schooled yesterday and worked this morning and it was all very good. Everything couldn’t be better with him," he said told the Punter on Tuesday morning. Janika also has an entry
Looking back on the Tingle Creek Hobbs said: “I thought between the last two that he’d go and win well but he just got a bit lonely after jumping the last.”

Amy Murphy reports Kalashnikov to be back to himself after being under the weather following a disappointing run at Cheltenham on New Year's Day.
The Newmarket trainer revealed her stable star returned home 'sick' when well-beaten behind Oldgrangewood, who had beaten him a nose on his previous start at Newbury. However, after treatment, Kalashnikov has now recovered and is being prepared for the Ryanair Chase at the Cheltenham Festival."He was sick after Cheltenham. He bled and then he started coughing a few days after. I'd say he was harbouring something. I'd say that's the reason he bled," said Murphy.
"We can put a line through that run. He'd never been out of the first two in his life (when he has completed the course)."He's had some antibiotics and he's absolutely fine."He doesn't have to run between now and the Ryanair unless I'm 100 per cent happy with him, but equally there are races like the Game Spirit."He'll get entries, but we'll see. He doesn't have to go anywhere before Cheltenham

Shishkin earned a 15/2 quote from the sponsors (non-runner/no bet) for the Sky Bet Supreme at Cheltenham with a scintillating victory at Newbury on Wednesday Assessing Shishkin's future plans, Henderson hinted a step up to two and a half miles could be on the cards.
He said: "You'd better think about the Ballymore as well, as I won't promise it will be the Supreme as Nico thought another half a mile might help him. I would like another run."It's experience that I want and I wouldn't be frightened of finding a nice little race. That would do well (the Sidney Banks at Huntingdon). Timing is about right from mid-Jan to mid-Feb to March, I would think."
