We start at Ascot last Friday where in the 6f handicap, The Tin Man (Peej), went to post, held up in touch, smooth progress against far rail 2 out, led on bit over 1 out, pushed clear , winning impressively by 4 ½ l. He gets 29.6 points and will no doubt step up in class next season.

On Sunday at Longchamp in the 1m 4f Group 1 Prix De L’Arc De Triomphe , Golden Horn ( Bob, Cliff, Lee, Tony), Flintshire (Cod), went to post. Golden Horn, raced wide early, soon worked across to track leader and took keen hold, ridden to lead over 2 out, stayed on strongly under pressure and asserted readily, winning by 2l He gets 56.2 points.

Flintshire, prominent on outer, ridden to challenge 2 out, stayed on but not match pace of winner from 1 out, finishing 2nd, beaten 2l. He gets 24 points.
