Flat 2013 - Editor's Introduction

So here we go again for another flat competition, 20 never seems enough as one tries to juggle 3 year olds, older horses, Colts Fillies and different distance categories, how did we ever cope with just 10 ! The season has already been rocked by the Godolphin drug scandal and the 8 year ban for trainer Al Zarooni, and the loss as a result of the high class Certify and Opinion Poll among others.
However there are plenty of high class older horses around to mix it with the young guns, and Camelot will be interesting this year as he tries to establish himself as the best middle distance colt. He came so close to the treasured triple crown last season, but he could be overtaken by improving sorts, possibly Encke, who beat him in the St Leger.
With only 8 of us now I expected few single picks and selections, but have risen, so well done all !. We have 105 different horses, only Torando is in all strings and single picks are amazing, Martin, Bob 12, Neil 11, Steve 10, Cod, Tony, 9, Cliff, Peej 8.
Some stand out ones that catch the editors eye are Planteur (Tony), Farhh, Parish Hall (Martin), What A Name (Cliff) Tawhid (Neil), The Fugue (Steve) Was (Peej), Swiss Spirit (Bob),  Orfevre (Cod).
It promises to be a very exciting season, and some good names as well, some of whom I will do special features on in the weeks to come.
Good Luck one and all.
The Editor
