News
JP McManus is set to be doubly represented in his quest for a first victory in the Ladbrokes King George VI Chase – but it is Spillane's Tower rather than Kempton favourite Fact To File due to be supplemented into the Christmas showpiece. While Spillane's Tower will join McManus's Corbetts Cross on December 26, the owner's Gold Cup favourite Fact To File will instead stay at home for another potential humdinger of a clash with Galopin Des Champs in the Savills Chase at Leopardstown.

Rising star Chianti Classico will prove himself a proper Gold Cup player if he can defy top weight at Cheltenham on Friday, says trainer Kim Bailey. The £100,000 contest has become a plan B for the seven-year-old, who was set to run in the Becher Chase at Aintree last Saturday to test his Grand National credentials, before the meeting was called off due to high winds caused by Storm Darragh.

The ownership group behind Caldwell Potter, the most expensive jumps horse sold at public auction, are excited about seeing the Grade 1 winner run at Cheltenham for the first time on Friday. The six-year-old won the Paddy Power Future Champions Novice Hurdle at Leopardstown last December for Gordon Elliott before being sold for €740,000 as part of Andrew and Gemma Brown's Caldwell Construction dispersal in February. He was bought by Sir Alex Ferguson, Ged Mason, John Hales and Peter Done and joined Paul Nicholls.
