Aidan O'Brien's Newmarket hero Gleneagles heads a field of 11 declared for the Tattersalls Irish 2,000 Guineas at the Curragh on Saturday, Ivawood, who finished third behind Gleneagles at Newmarket, renews rivalry

Dual Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe heroine Treve is "spot on" ahead of her return to action next week

Kevin Ryan believes the ground is turning in The Grey Gatsby's favour as he prepares his dual Group One winner for the Tattersalls Gold Cup at the Curragh on Sunday.

Epicuris came through a stalls test at Chantilly on Thursday morning but trainer Criquette Head-Maarek cannot rest on her laurels ahead of the French Derby, While the Group One winner successfully passed through the gates, he did so only accompanied by Nicolas Blondeau, the man renowned for helping Goldikova at the start of races. With the rules different in France to England, Head-Maarek will now apply for special dispensation for Blondeau to be with the Criterium de Saint-Cloud winner at the start of the Prix du Jockey Club.

Muthmir is set to head to Haydock on Saturday week as he continues his preparation for the King's Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Sole Power will have his first run on home soil since August 2011 in the Weatherbys Ireland Greenlands Stakes at the Curragh on Saturday

Next week's Brigadier Gerard Stakes at Sandown is one of two options under consideration for Sir Michael Stoute's exciting middle-distance performer Arab Spring.

Free Eagle, ante-post favourite for Sunday's Tattersalls Gold Cup at the Curragh, will miss the race.

2015 Flat Profile - Salt Island

Salt Island 3 YBC Exceed and Excel             (Steve)
Useful looking colt who has won 2 of his 3 starts, he made a winning debut at Windsor in August last year, winning a 6f maiden by 3 ¼ l from Best Endeavour. He had obviously shown plenty at home as he was only 3/1 on that occasion. He then finished 5th at Doncaster in a 6f listed stakes, beaten 3 ½ l by Code Red, and reappeared at Newmarket recently, winning a 6f handicap by 3 1/l from Properus.  That is quite an impressive margin and he holds an entry in the Irish 2000 guineas, and he could end up a smart sprinter / miler this year.
